"What really matters personally to me is how we can make a richer life for others."
A passionate advocate for sustainable investing.
After graduating with honours from Oxford University with a BA in Modern history, James Purcell joined UBS in an equity sales role in 2009. He soon made a mark within the company, moving from equity sales to wealth management and ultimately becoming Global Head of Sustainable and Impact Investments, aged just 30. During his time in this role, UBS was the recipient of numerous prizes for sustainable investing, including from Euromoney and the Financial Times. For his work with the bank, James was named in Financial News’ 2018 Rising Stars of Asset Management Under 40s list.
James joined Quintet Private Bank in 2020 as Group Head of ESG, Sustainable, and Impact Investing, where he has been driving Quintet’s sustainable approach to equity investing. For James, a richer life is as much about helping others as one’s own personal security, and he sees sustainable investment as a key means to build a richer life together.
